Frequently Asked Questions

If you are a student in one of UVM’s partner universities, you should apply via the office of International Relations at your home university. To see a list of our partner universities, please visit our agreements page. If you are a direct enrollment student, you should contact international@uvm.cl to request more information about application procedures indicating your study period and program choice.

The prices vary depending on the program, and if you wish to stay with a host family. For more inforamtion regarding prices, please contact international@uvm.cl with your name, name of your home university, and the program of your choice.

For direct enrollment students only:

Tuition/program cost liability is based on the date on which a formal written cancellation request is received by UVM. If a cancellation notice is received:

Fall/Spring Semesters: Up to one month’s prior written notice, no payment will be due. With written notice up to 15 days prior to program start date 10% of total program costs will be due to the UVM per student. With less than 15 days of prior notice to program start date, 25% of each students total program costs will be due to the UVM. Once a program begins students are responsible for paying 100% of the tuition cost. An exception will be made if a student gives written notice of their cancelation, but expresses their interest in coming during the upcoming semester, in which case 50% of their total program costs must me made to the UVM to reserve their future placement.

With less than 15 days of prior notice to program start date, 25% of each students total program costs will be due to the UVM. Once a program begins students are responsible for paying 100% of the tuition cost. If you are a direct enrollment student, or will be staying with a host family, payment is due by the first day of orientation.

The International Campus of the UVM is located at Diego Portales 90, where all Spanish as a Second Language and Semester in English classes are held. This campus is shared with the School of Business and is centrally located.
